Saad Bin Zafar, a versatile player, has been appointed captain of Canada’s experienced squad for the upcoming ICC Men’s T20 World Cup.
Canada will debut at the T20 World Cup and has been placed in Group A alongside co-hosts USA, India, Pakistan, and Ireland.
Saad, known for his left-arm orthodox spin, brings considerable experience to the team. The squad includes top-order batsman Aaron Johnson and left-arm seamer Kaleem Sana, with only four players below 30.
Notably, Nikhil Dutta and Srimantha Wijeyeratne did not make it to the squad, while Tajinder Singh a reserve player.

Canada’s opening match in the T20 World Cup is against the USA in Dallas on June 1. The USA had previously won a bilateral series against Canada in early April.
Pubudu Dassanayake, a former Sri Lankan and Canadian international, has been the team’s coach since 2022.

All teams have the flexibility to make adjustments to their squad until May 25th. After this date, any changes will need approval from the ICC’s Event Technical Committee.
