The youngest player in IPL 2025 is Vaibhav Suryavanshi, aged just 13, who was bought by Rajasthan Royals for ₹1.1 crore, making history as the youngest player ever in the auction. Other notable young talents include Ayush Mhatre (17), who Chennai Super Kings picked.
1. Vaibhav Suryavanshi (13 years old) (Rajasthan Royals):

After a vigorous bidding war between Delhi Capitals and Rajasthan Royals, 13-year-old Vaibhav Suryavanshi was bagged by the latter for a whopping INR 1.10 crore. As a result, he became the youngest player to be purchased at an IPL auction. Earlier this year, he made his First-Class debut in the Ranji Trophy for Bihar.
The southpaw has also played a couple of Youth Tests for India Under-19s. Although unofficial, the Tests officially marked Suryavanshi’s presence out in the open after he battered his way to a stunning century in the first game.
2. Kwena Mahaka (18 years, 231 days) (Rajasthan Royals)

Rajasthan Royals snapped Kwena Mahaka for INR 1.5 crore. The up-and-coming talent was a part of Mumbai Indians in the previous edition. However, he did not fare well and played only two matches. In his nascent T20 career, Mahaka has done well for Paarl Royals.
(3) Allah Ghazanfar (18 years old) (Mumbai Indians)

The Mumbai Indians participated in the bidding procedure and won Allah Ghazanfar’s services as a right-arm off-break. Before MI entered the competition and ultimately defeated his former team, the Kolkata Knight Riders, and the Royal Challengers Bengaluru, the bids were coming in thick and fast. He did not play in any of KKR’s matches the previous season.
The 18-year-old has already represented Afghanistan in eight One-Day Internationals. He can effectively use his distinctive style of giving the ball a good rip against teams that are dominated by left-handers. He has been economical in terms of economy rate (5.71) in the 16 Twenty20 matches he has played until November 30, 2024.
(4) Swastik Chikara (19 years) (Swastik Chikara)

RCB purchased Swastik Chikara for INR 30 lakh, which was his base price. Before the 2024 Indian Premier League, he was acquired by DC, however he was cut during the competition. The opening batsman can hit the ball far.
At this year’s UP T20 League, this very quality of his was seen in large numbers. Having scored 499 runs, he became the competition’s top scorer overall. He works as an off-spinner part-time as well.
(5) Musheer Khan (19 years) (Punjab Kings)

Musheer Khan, the younger brother of Indian cricketer Sarfaraz Khan, was purchased by Punjab Kings for INR 30 lakh. He had never put himself up for auction before. When it comes to improving his abilities, Musheer has always had a great work ethic.
For him, the most recent Ranji Trophy was an exceptional one. Musheer can bowl some crucial left-arm spin in addition to being a valuable tool in the middle order. How the PBKS management uses him will be interesting to observe.
(6) Arshin Kulkarni (19 years) (Lucknow Super Giants)

The Lucknow Super Giants paid INR 30 lakh to acquire Arshin Kulkarni back. He only appeared in a few IPL 2024 games for LSG. The power hitter is currently competing for Maharashtra in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, which is now in progress.
Arshin, who looks up to Jacques Kallis, also provides a handful with the ball. As a seam bowler, he is a dependable choice who can supply important overs during the powerplay. When given the chance to show off his skills in the IPL 2025, he will be looking to outperform last season.
(7) Noor Ahmad (19 years) (Chennai Super Kings)

CSK paid INR 10 crore to acquire Noor Ahmad, Afghanistan’s master spin bowler. His previous team, Gujarat Titans, was prepared to use its Right To Match card for Noor at the INR 5 crore mark. However, GT withdrew when CSK raised his money.
His unique ability to bowl left-arm wrist spin is one of the unique qualities that make Noor a valuable gem. He has participated in numerous T20 tournaments worldwide, gradually improving his skills and self-assurance. He has so far maintained a frugal economy rate of 6.94 on the global stage.
(8) Kumar Kushagra (20 years) (Gujarat Titans)

Kumar Kushagra, who was born in Jharkhand, was sold to GT for INR 65 lakh. In the last auction, GT, CSK, and DC engaged in a three-way bidding war for the wicketkeeper-batter. He was eventually signed by the Capitals, but he struggled in the three IPL 2024 opportunities that were given to him.
This does not, however, indicate that he cannot give powerful performances. He seemed to have settled into List A cricket in his early career. The Titans can rely on the youngest Indian hitter to reach 250+ runs in domestic cricket to convert his 50-over form into memorable games.
